One of Indonesia's highest volcanoes at 3,726 m, with the Segara Anak crater lake partway up; standard trips are two or three days from Senaru or Sembalun and need a park permit and a registered guide. The national park closes for part of the rainy season each year, so check the current dates with the park authority before you book flights.

Two falls in the Rinjani foothills at Senaru, about fifteen minutes apart on foot; Sendang Gile is a short staircase from the entrance while Tiu Kelep involves river crossings and slippery rock. Half a day from Senggigi, and usually paired with a night in Senaru before a trek.

Selong Belanak, Mawun and Tanjung A'an lie within an hour of Kuta along a road of headlands and horseshoe bays — Selong Belanak is the beginner surf beach, Mawun the swimming one. Rent a scooter and do three in a day.

Two traditional Sasak settlements on the Kuta–Praya road with thatched rice barns, packed-earth floors and back-strap looms still in use; guides wait at the entrance and work on a donation. Rambitan is the less-visited of the pair.

Purpose-built coastal circuit east of Kuta that hosts MotoGP's Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, World Superbikes and the Asian Road Racing Championship; the 2026 MotoGP round is 9–11 October. Outside race weekends the surrounding Mandalika resort area is quiet and half-built.
