Diving is the industry here; everything else happens on the village pitch at five o'clock.
Trawangan dive schools
A cluster of shops on the east strip run open-water and freediving courses year-round at prices set by a long-standing local agreement. Visibility peaks April to October.
Village football and takraw
The pitch behind Trawangan's mosque fills each afternoon with football and sepak takraw; spectators are welcome and nobody charges anything.
Trawangan's south reef break
A short, hollow right off the island's southern tip that works in the wet season, roughly November to March. Experienced surfers only.
Peresean stick fighting
The Sasak duelling art from Lombok, fought with rattan canes and rawhide shields, is staged at village festivals through the dry season.
