FIESTA SIDE
Gili Trawangan is the only one of the three islands with a real night out — a strip of beach bars that take turns hosting the late party — while Gili Air winds down before midnight and Gili Meno barely has a bar.

Tír na nÓg, Gili Trawangan
The 'Irish Bar' on Trawangan's east-side strip and the island's longest-running one, screening Premier League, MotoGP, F1, rugby and boxing with nightly drink specials. It is the fallback on nights when nothing else has a party on.
The rotating party night
Trawangan's bars take turns hosting the one late night of the week rather than all opening late together, and the rota shifts every few months and shrinks in low season. Ask at your guesthouse on arrival instead of trusting a blog; almost nothing starts before 23:00.
Sunset on the west coast
Bean bags, low tables and swings set in the shallows along Trawangan's west-facing beach, with Bali's Mount Agung on the horizon when it is clear. This close to the equator sunset lands around 18:00–18:30 all year — walk or cycle over an hour early, the path is sand.
Scallywags, South Beach
Beachfront restaurant and bar on Trawangan's south beach, part of a small resort and dive-centre group that also has a place on Gili Air. Suits a long dinner and drinks rather than a late one.
Gili Air and Gili Meno after dark
Air has a handful of low-key bars near the harbour that empty around midnight, and Meno has effectively no nightlife at all. None of the three islands has cars, motorbikes or street lighting, so carry a torch for the walk home.
