From roughly April to October the trade winds blow offshore on the Bukit and the west — Uluwatu, Padang Padang, Bingin and Canggu are at their cleanest.

From about November to March the wind swings and the east works instead: Keramas, Sanur, Nusa Dua and Serangan hold the shape. Reef breaks, mostly.
