Football in summer
Iceland's top division plays from spring to autumn because of the winters. The national team fills Laugardalsvöllur, and league tickets are cheap and easy.
Handball indoors
The national sport by results. The domestic league runs autumn to spring in halls around the capital, with internationals at Laugardalshöll.
Reykjavík Marathon
Held in August alongside Culture Night, with distances from a fun run upwards and a city that comes outside to watch and then swims.
