The things worth doing in Pecs, from the obvious landmarks to the ones locals actually rate.
Vasarely Museum
Kaptalan utca 3, in the Op-art master's birth house. Dizzying, and small enough for an hour. Closed Mondays.
Zsolnay Museum
Kaptalan utca 2: iridescent eosin-glazed porcelain in one of the city's oldest surviving houses. Next door to the Vasarely.
Misina TV Tower
A 197m tower on the Mecsek ridge above town with a viewing deck. On a clear day the view runs into Croatia.
Tettye ruins and park
The shell of a 16th-century bishop's summer palace, set in a leafy hillside park. Free, and usually almost empty.
Modern Hungarian Gallery
Papnovelde utca 5: a strong run of 20th-century Hungarian painting, part of the Janus Pannonius Museum. Closed Mondays.
