WITH KIDS
Pecs works with children because the hill above the city carries the zoo, the adventure park and the baths, and the bus that reaches them is the same one everyone takes to the TV tower.

Bobita Puppet Theatre
Felsovamhaz utca 50, with separate programmes for toddlers, preschoolers, primary-age children and adults, plus craft workshops built around the shows. Performances are in Hungarian, though a good deal of the repertoire is visual enough to follow.
Pecs Zoo and Aquarium-Terrarium
Angyan Janos utca 1 on the Mecsek slope: the highest-lying zoo in Hungary, four hectares holding around 1,500 animals across 300 species, with a two-floor reptile house as the main draw.
Mecsextrem Park, Arpadteto
Fourteen activities spread through the forest above town — rope courses, a gravity bob run, climbing walls, go-karts and an indoor play barn — with free parking. The 2026 season opened on 3 April; check the calendar, because it shuts on some weekdays outside high summer.
Hullamfurdo
Szendrey Julia utca 7: a wave pool running since 1935 alongside a 50-metre pool at 27°C and a shallow teaching pool, with over 8,000 square metres of grass, wooden play equipment, swings and a sandpit for the hours between swims.
Tettye tufa cave
Tettye utca 65, a few minutes from the palace ruins but a separate site: a labyrinth of tufa passages and a cave dwelling, visited on guided tours that leave on the hour. It holds a steady 14°C inside, so take a layer even in August.
