The 58th Raiffeisen Kékszalag runs 30 July to 1 August 2026 from Balatonfüred, a keelboat race of more than 150 km around the lake; 458 boats entered in 2026 and 250 finished. Free to watch from the Balatonfüred waterfront, where the prize-giving is held on Gyógy tér.

The 44th lake crossing is on 1 August 2026, 5.2 km from the football pitch at Révfülöp to Platán beach at Balatonboglár, with 9,500 places and entry at 20,000 Ft. Under-14s must swim with a parent unless they hold a swimming, triathlon, water polo or pentathlon licence; 14 to 18 can enter alone.

Triathlon festival at Balatonfűzfő on 4–5 September 2026 with short, middle and iron distances plus relays, on a closed cycling course. It is the final stop of the Friendship Series and sold out on every distance for 2026, so enter early.

A lap of the entire lake on foot, around 210 km, starting and finishing in Balatonfüred with race HQ at the Annagora Aquapark. Solo runners and teams of two to six run the same course in late April, with cut-offs of 31 hours for solos down to 28 hours for teams of four.

No Balaton town has an NB I club. The nearest first-division sides in the 2026-27 season are Puskás Akadémia at Felcsút and Zalaegerszegi TE, each roughly an hour's drive off the shore; Fehérvár, the club most visitors ask about, is no longer in the top division.
