Kazinczy utca 14, the original ruin bar: junk-filled courtyards, no entry fee, open to 4am. A farmers' market takes over on Sundays.

Akacfa utca 49-51: seven rooms of dance floors under one roof, open 6pm to 6am daily with free entry. The biggest party complex downtown.

Obol utca 1 in Buda: gig venue and garden with live bands, DJs and a big terrace. Runs to 2am Friday and 3am Saturday.

Hollan Erno utca 7: proper nightly gigs from 8pm, then free jam sessions after 10pm Monday to Saturday.

Kazinczy utca 18, next door to Szimpla: eight food trucks and three bars, open daily until midnight. The langos is the point.
