Antigua GFC
The town's club plays in Guatemala's top division at the Estadio Pensativo, a tight ground a few blocks from the square. Apertura July–December, Clausura January–May.
Volcano trail races
Trail events on the Agua and Acatenango slopes cluster in the dry months, November to March, with distances from ten kilometres upward.
Vuelta a Guatemala
The national road cycling tour, run each autumn, is one of the oldest stage races in the Americas and usually passes through the highlands near Antigua.
Acatenango overnight trek
The two-day climb to camp opposite the erupting Fuego is the thing most travellers actually come to do; agencies on the Arco run it cheaply.
