FIESTA SIDE
Santorini's night is mostly a long dinner with a caldera view; the actual bars are concentrated in Fira, and Oia empties the moment the sunset crowd disperses.
Santorini
Fira bar street
Erythrou Stavrou, the lane running north from the main square, holds most of the island's late bars inside a couple of hundred metres. It does not get going until after midnight and then runs to the small hours in season.
Cine Kamari
Open-air cinema in a garden at Kamari, screening films in English with Greek subtitles through the summer. Doors at 20:30, film at 21:30, and it takes no reservations, so you turn up, buy a drink and sit under the trees.
Kamari and Perissa beach bars
The two black-sand towns on the east and south coast carry the island's relaxed drinking: beach bars that slide from sunbeds into the evening, cheaper than anything on the caldera rim, and a younger crowd around the Perissa hostels.
Oia after sunset
Oia's evening is the sunset and then dinner. Once the crowd breaks up the village goes quiet fast, and there is little to do afterwards, so treat it as a meal rather than a night out.
Sort out the journey home first
Local buses all radiate through Fira and stop running well before the bars close, and taxis on Santorini are notoriously scarce and expensive. Decide how you are getting back to Kamari, Perissa or Oia before you start drinking, not after.
