The first zoo in the world laid out by continent rather than by species, with more than 500 species and an aquarium, at Tierparkstr. 30 and open 365 days a year. 21 € adults and 9 € for children 4–14, or 46 € for a two-parent family card. Tram 25 to Tiroler Platz.

The working studio backlot at Bavariafilmplatz 7 in Geiselgasteig, south-east of the city. The Filmstadt Kombi — guided studio tour plus the 4D cinema — is 24 € for adults and 21 € for ages 6–17; VR games are 9 € extra. Tours are the reason to come, so check the German/English times before travelling out.

A proper touch-everything museum for ages 4–12 at Willy-Brandt-Allee 10, with one big changing exhibition rather than a permanent collection. 5.50 € per person or 16 € for a family of up to five. Term-time it opens Thursday and Friday afternoons and 10:00–17:00 at weekends; in the holidays daily except Monday.

Inside the Olympiapark, so it pairs with a run around the park afterwards. Book online and tickets start at 20 € instead of 25 € at the door, with family packages from 54 €; open from 09:00 with last entry an hour before closing. Small enough to do in 90 minutes.
