In the Bundesliga for the 2026/27 season, playing at the RheinEnergieSTADION in Müngersdorf on the western edge of the city, served by its own S-Bahn stop and tram line 1. Tickets go through the club's own online shop and the derbies against Gladbach and Leverkusen sell out first.

Eight-time German ice hockey champions, playing in the Penny DEL and the Champions Hockey League at the Lanxess Arena in Deutz, with the season running from September into spring. Single tickets, season passes and premium seating are all sold through the club site.

Held on 4 October 2026. The flat course starts in Deutz, loops through Rodenkirchen, Lindenthal, Ehrenfeld and Nippes and finishes at the cathedral, with 11 aid stations on the marathon and 6 on the half. Entry is €130 for the marathon, €95 for the half, €199 for a relay team and €9 for the kids' run.

The arena regularly stages the men's EHF FINAL4 Champions League weekend and is a venue for the 2027 IHF Men's World Championship. It is a five-minute walk from Köln Messe/Deutz station, which means you can be on an ICE within minutes of the final whistle.

The left-bank Rheinuferweg and the Inner Green Belt around the Aachener Weiher give you a flat, traffic-free run without leaving the city, busy with locals from early morning. Costs nothing, needs no plan, and is the obvious answer if your hotel has no gym.
