Bundesliga football in a mostly standing, tree-ringed ground at An der Wuhlheide 26 out in Köpenick, about 40 minutes from Mitte. The atmosphere is the reason people come; tickets are limited and members get first refusal, so plan well ahead.

Hertha BSC have played here since the Bundesliga was founded in 1963, and on non-match days you can walk the bowl yourself: 11 € adults, 6 € for ages 6–14, 27 € for a family of five, plus 4 € for the multimedia guide. Generally open 09:00–20:00, last entry 30 minutes before closing.

Run on the last Sunday of September — 27 September 2026 — over a famously flat course. Places go by lottery; if you miss out there are charity entries, official tour-operator packages and a 5K on the Saturday. Watching costs nothing and the crowds along Kurfürstendamm are the best of it.

The city's Basketball Bundesliga club, playing home games at the Uber Arena in Friedrichshain with some fixtures at the Sporthalle Charlottenburg. Season runs autumn to spring and tickets are far easier to get than football ones.

Ice hockey in the DEL, also at the Uber Arena, with the season starting in September and running into the spring play-offs. Loud, fast and cheap by German sport standards — the obvious winter evening if football tickets are gone.
