Bar-restaurant at 15 rue de la Préfecture in the old town, open every day from 10:00 to 02:00, with live music in the bar every evening and rugby and other sport on the screens through the season. Rock-and-vintage decor, and one of the busiest rooms in Vieux Nice, so it fills early on weekends.

Irish-owned pub with two Nice branches, one in Vieux Nice and one down at the port, running live bands, a weekly quiz and sport on big screens. Kitchen covers Irish breakfast, fish and chips, burgers, plant-based dishes and a children's menu, so it works as an early dinner as well as a late drink.

The city's opera house at 4-6 rue Saint François de Paule, on the edge of the old town, with its own philharmonic orchestra, ballet company and choir programming opera, concerts and ballet. Box office is open Tuesday to Saturday 10:00-17:00 and closed Mondays; booking online runs at any hour.

The lanes between the Cours Saleya and rue de la Préfecture hold most of the late bars within a few minutes of each other, so an evening here needs no transport at all. It is also the loudest part of the city after midnight, which matters if you have booked a room above one of the streets.

The harbour east of the old town is the second cluster of evening places, quieter and more local than the Vieux Nice lanes, and about a fifteen-minute walk along the seafront from the Cours Saleya. Worth the walk if the old town feels too busy.
