The town sports park hosts the local clubs' football from May to October and athletics through the summer, at regional level and for a nominal entry.

The town's club fields teams in the lower national tiers from September to March, in a rink that costs a few euros to enter and is loud regardless.

The guest harbour fills through July and the waters off Porvoo host club regattas across the summer, with charter and kayak hire on the river.

Marked routes run the coastal road towards Helsinki, roughly fifty kilometres, and in a hard winter locals ski and skate on the frozen river itself.
