Irish pub on Rihkamatori 2 in the Old Town, running since 2010 and the only place in Porvoo pouring Guinness on draught. Open Mon-Thu 16-02, Fri 14-02 and Sat-Sun 12-02, with a pub quiz on Thursdays at 19:00 and live music on Friday evenings.

Coffee roastery, cafe and bar in a 1902 brick building at Mannerheiminkatu 2 by the river. Runs from 10:00 all day into the evening: to 23 on Mon-Tue, midnight Wed-Thu, 02 on Fri-Sat and 22 on Sunday, with a long list of wines, whiskies and cognacs alongside the coffee.

Porvoo's cocktail bar and its nightclub in one building at Jokikatu 31. The Kliffa bar side opens Wed-Fri 20-04 (K-18) and Sat 17-04 (K-20); the Klubi side runs as a club on weekend and holiday nights from about 22 to 04.

Restaurant and bar in a historic house at Jokikatu 20 on the edge of Raatihuoneentori, the Old Town Hall square. A la carte with vegan versions of most dishes; open Mon-Thu 11-20, Fri 11-22, Sat 12-22 and Sun 12-18, kitchen closing an hour before the doors.

Porvoo trades on food rather than late licences, and outside the two weekend club nights the town winds down early. If you want a long night out, plan it for Friday or Saturday; midweek, book a table and accept that the evening ends when the kitchen does.
