Finland's largest ski resort — cheap only if you sleep in the village below and cook yourself.
Sirkka and Kittilä
Levi's slopeside apartments are priced accordingly; shared cabins and hostels in Sirkka village and in Kittilä, fifteen kilometres away, cost a fraction.
What a day costs
EUR 60–110 for bed and food, plus a lift pass at roughly 50–65 a day. Cross-country skiing instead of downhill removes most of that.
Free ski buses
In season the resort buses circulate free between the village, the lifts and outlying accommodation. Kittilä airport is fifteen minutes, Rovaniemi about two and a half hours.
Free by day
Hundreds of kilometres of marked trails, the walk up Levitunturi to the summit, and aurora watching from the ridge above the village lights.
Levi village centre
The après-ski bars in the pedestrian centre are where seasonal workers and visitors mix; prices drop noticeably once you walk out to Sirkka.
