Lutsu 8 in the old town: Wed 11:00–18:00, Thu 10:00–18:00, Fri–Sun 11:00–18:00, closed Mon–Tue. €10 adults, €8 children, €28 family. There is a playroom open until 16:00 (socks or slippers required) and a separate theatre house a few doors away at Lutsu 2.

Turu 10 beside the river: pools, slides and a sauna centre. The swimming pool runs Mon–Fri 06:30–22:00 and Sat–Sun 10:00–22:00; the water park and saunas Mon–Thu 12:00–22:00 and Fri–Sun 10:00–22:00. The obvious answer to a wet afternoon, and Tartu has plenty of those.

Ujula 98 on the Emajõgi: a working barge-building yard and small theme park about historic river craft of the Baltic, with trips on the wooden barge Jõmmu. Sailings depend on the boat's schedule rather than fixed opening hours, so email ahead.

Ropes courses at Narva mnt 126B, fifteen minutes' walk from the centre, open daily 11:00–19:00 all year. Prices run from €5 for the 300 m zip line to €30 for the all-activity pass, with children's tracks from €12 and a ninja area at €15.

Laulupeo pst 25, beside the song festival grounds: a concrete skatepark and pump track, a BMX cross track, a children's and youth park, and a dendropark with disc golf and walking trails. The summer exercise tracks become ski tracks in winter; equipment hire and lockers are the paid part.
