The sand spit where the Skagerrak and Kattegat meet, about 3 km from town. Walk from the car park at Fyrvej 38V, or take the Sandormen tractor-bus, which runs 28 March to 24 October 2026, roughly every 10 minutes in peak season and every 20-30 minutes either side of it.

A migrating dune of nearly 1 square kilometre, 35-40 m high and holding about 3.5 million cubic metres of sand, moving 10-30 m north-east a year. Free and open access; the access route was deliberately left unprotected in 2008 so the dune can keep moving. Hard walking in soft sand.

The tower of St Lawrence's Church, built in the late 14th century and progressively buried by sand drift from the 16th; the congregation gave up in 1795 and only the tower was left as a seamark. In the dunes west of town, with parking and short sandy paths - wear proper shoes.

Brøndumsvej 4, holding the world's largest collection of the Skagen Painters. Daily 10:00-17:00 in June, July and August; Tuesday to Sunday for the rest of March-December, mostly 10:00-16:00. Closed 23-26 and 31 December.

Anna and Michael Ancher's home and studios on Markvej, kept with the family's own furniture and pictures and the two studios architect Ulrik Plesner added in 1913. Open roughly 11:00-16:00, with a garden café and a Wednesday 14:00 guided walk that must be booked ahead.
