Odense has no late-night strip: evenings run through the student house, a cinema-café and the big ODEON hall, and outside the student calendar the city is fairly quiet by midnight.
Studenterhus Odense
Amfipladsen 6: café and bar with concerts, stand-up, lectures and board games, open to all of the city's students. Mon-Wed 10:00-22:00, Thu-Sat 10:00 until midnight or 02:00 depending on the event, Sun 12:00-18:00.
Café Biografen
Amfipladsen 13 in the Brandts quarter, running since 1983: an arthouse cinema with a café attached that stays open to 23:00 Mon-Sat and 22:30 Sunday, with the kitchen closing at 21:00 (20:00 Sunday).
ODEON
Odeons Kvarter 1, the city's largest music, theatre and conference building, opened March 2017 and covering concerts, musicals, theatre and comedy. Restaurant Hans Christian serves Mon-Sat 17:30-23:00 with the kitchen closing at 21:00, which makes it a workable pre-show dinner.
Odense Teater
Jernbanegade 21, playing Danish and foreign classics, modern drama, musicals and work for younger audiences across a season that opens in September. Performances are in Danish; box office on 66 12 00 52.
Odense Sommerrevy
Denmark's largest summer revue, played in a tent on Engen for the summer only and entirely in Danish. Tickets go online months ahead but can be bought at the tent if seats remain.
