FIESTA SIDE
Almost all of Aalborg's going-out is funnelled into one pedestrian street, Jomfru Ane Gade, with a student house and two proper music venues as the alternative when you want something other than cheap shots.
Aalborg waterfront and the Limfjord
Jomfru Ane Gade
A single pedestrianised street just back from the waterfront, lined end to end with bars and clubs. Drinks offers are aggressive and it is busiest after midnight on Friday and Saturday; nothing here needs booking.
Studenterhuset
Gammeltorv 10, a volunteer-run student venue with concerts across rock, indie, jazz, metal and hip-hop, plus quiz and board-game nights. Most tickets carry a student discount and it hosts Aalborg Metal Festival.
Skråen i Nordkraft
Kjellerups Torv 5, inside the converted Nordkraft power station: three rooms (Skråen, Loungen and Royal Stage) for concerts, stand-up and the recurring Fredagsfest. Tickets can also be bought in person at the café on Thursdays 15:00-17:00.
1000Fryd
Running since 1984: concerts, film screenings, documentaries, open mic and chess nights, plus a 30 kr Folkekøkken community dinner. Gigs are mostly 50-100 kr and the screenings are often free.
Søgaards Bryghus
C. W. Obels Plads 1A: family-run brewery and distillery with the copper kettles visible from the entrance, and Hr. Søgaard as the gastropub side. Mon-Wed 10:00-22:00, Thu to 22:30, Fri-Sat late, closed Sunday. Everything on tap is brewed in the basement.
