Aalborg Zoo
Mid-sized and walkable in half a day, with a savannah section and a children's farm. Close to the centre by bus and well set up for pushchairs.
Lindholm Høje
A hillside of roughly seven hundred graves marked out as stone ships, free to walk among, with a small museum explaining what lies under the sand.
Fårup Sommerland
An hour north-west near the coast: wooden coasters, a large water park and forest setting, open from May to early September. Height limits apply.
Vestre Fjordpark
Free outdoor pools, slides and shallow water built into the fjord, with lifeguards in summer and a sauna for the adults. Toddlers upwards.
Getting around with children
Two under-twelves ride free with a ticket-holding adult, the Plusbus is step-free, and Danish restaurants serve dinner from around half past five.
