SPORT & SEASON
Prague is a two-club football city with a real rivalry — Slavia in Vršovice, Sparta on Letná — plus Extraliga hockey at the O2 arena and a marathon in early May that closes the old town.

SK Slavia Praha
The red-and-whites, at the Fortuna Arena in Eden, Vršovice, and regularly in Europe — the 2026–27 Champions League draw put them against Bayern, Arsenal and Porto. Tickets through the club's own portal; league games are easy, European nights are not.
AC Sparta Praha
The other half of the city, at the epet ARENA on Letná, a walk up from the river. Chance Liga football, plus stadium tours and VIP seats booked through the club site.
HC Sparta Praha
Extraliga ice hockey at the O2 arena, with some fixtures at the smaller Sportovní hala Fortuna on Letná. Tickets go through Ticketmaster and Ticketportal, linked from the club's site.
Vodafone Prague Marathon
2–3 May 2026, the 31st edition, an 8:00 start and around 16,000 runners on a course through the old town and along the Vltava. The weekend also carries a two-person relay, a 4.2 km breakfast run, a family mile and a children's race.
Plavecký stadion Podolí
The city's serious swimming complex, under the cliffs at Podolí: a 50 m indoor pool, a 33 m pool and a 50 m outdoor pool that opens in summer. Municipal, so far cheaper than a hotel pool, and busiest at lunchtime.
