The weekday set lunch is the cheapest good meal in Prague and it stops at about two o'clock. Make that your main meal, in a pub in Žižkov or Karlín rather than off Old Town Square, and the evening becomes a beer instead of a bill.

A dorm in Holešovice plus one set lunch keeps a day well under what the old town charges for dinner alone.
