Olomouc eats early and cheaply: two house breweries doing the heavy lifting, a weekday lunch menu in almost every kitchen, and a market that is finished by noon.
Olomoucká tržnice
The city market, run by Výstaviště Flora. Full stalls on Wednesday and Saturday 7:00–12:00 — fruit, vegetables, cheese, flowers — with traders turning up on other days in high season. Go early; it is over by lunchtime.
Svatováclavský pivovar
House brewery and restaurant pouring seven unpasteurised, unfiltered beers of its own alongside Czech home cooking. Weekday lunch menu 11:00–14:00; the beer spa in the same building runs 14:00–21:00 and needs booking.
Long Story Short Eatery & Bakery
The kitchen inside the hostel on Koželužská. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand and a place on Gault & Millau's Czech list. The bakery counter is the cheap way in; dinner needs a table booked.
Moritz
The other house brewery in town, serving its own unfiltered beer straight from the tank with Czech cooking and a daily lunch menu. Non-smoking, and busy enough at weekends to be worth ringing ahead.
