The town's football club, founded in 1957, running an A and B team plus age groups from under-8 to under-19 in the regional Czech leagues against sides like Velim and Nespeky. Regional-league football, and the only live sport in the town itself.

The closest Chance Liga club, playing at the Stadion Arnosta Kostala in Pardubice, about an hour away by train via Kolin. If you want to see Sparta, Slavia or Plzen without going to Prague, this is where they come to you.

Tipsport Extraliga ice hockey at the Enteria arena in Pardubice, the same hour's journey. The 2026/27 season starts in early September and it is by some distance the best-supported sporting fixture within reach of Kutna Hora.

The country east of town towards Svaty Mikulas is flat farmland with a chateau park at the end of it, which makes it the obvious short ride or run out of Kutna Hora. Bike racks and free parking at Kacina, and the museum grounds are open through the main season.

The walk most visitors end up doing twice, from the ossuary and the main station up to Palackeho namesti, is the closest thing this town has to a daily circuit - flat at first, then a climb onto the ridge. Locals run it; day-trippers curse it with a suitcase.
