The National Agriculture Museum's empire chateau at Svaty Mikulas, a few kilometres east. Open daily 09:00-17:00 June to August and 10:00-17:00 in September, with weekend-only hours later in the year. 180 Kc adults, free for under-18s, plus a bee kingdom exhibition, costume hire, a cafe, free parking and grounds to run in.

Zamecka 1, Zleby: a romantic nineteenth-century Auersperg residence with a weapons collection and interiors kept as an aristocratic household, plus a park with bike racks and a snack kiosk. Guided tours only, and free-admission Sundays sell out well in advance.

Masarykova 1041 in Kolin, up the line towards Prague: indoor pool, outdoor swimming area, children's pools and paddling areas, plus tennis 09:00-20:00, beach volleyball 09:00-20:00 and minigolf 12:00-18:00. Check before travelling - it closed for maintenance from 1 to 10 September 2026.

A small zoo at Vaclava Otty 1 in Chleby, out towards Nymburk, open 09:00-18:00 every day of the year. Around 180 species and 420 animals, feed on sale so children can hand-feed some of them, plus playgrounds and a shop. Realistically a car trip rather than a bus one.
