The town's Tipsport Extraliga ice hockey club, playing at the arena on Zapadni 73 west of the centre. Tickets and season passes go through the club's own portal, and this is the only fixture in Karlovy Vary that fills a building.

Karlovy Vary has no club in the Chance Liga. The nearest top-division football is FC Viktoria Plzen, south of here, which is also where most local shirts in the pubs come from.

Founded in 1904 and the oldest golf club in the country, at Prazska 219 about 5 km from the spa valley. Reception 08:00-18:00 daily, buggies available, driving range from 07:00, and a Pupp-run restaurant at the clubhouse.

The largest ski area in the Ore Mountains, up at Loucna pod Klinovcem north of the town. In summer the same lifts serve a trail park with 30 km of biking across four grades, 70 km of cycling routes and off-road scooter hire; ski passes are sold through the resort's own e-shop.

The granite pillars at Svatosske skaly, a protected two-hectare formation downstream towards Loket, are a long-standing local climbing spot and the target of the marked Doubi educational trail. Free to walk, with the suspension footbridge as the crossing point.
