The nearest top-flight team of any kind: Tipsport Extraliga ice hockey in the regional capital, about 25 km north and an easy bus. The 2026/27 season opens in September and away fans travel from Krumlov in numbers.

The region's football club, and the honest answer to where the football is: Dynamo are not in the 2026/27 Chance Liga, so the nearest top-flight football is Plzen or Prague, a long way north. Dynamo is still the nearest professional ground to Krumlov.

The loop under the weir in town is the short, wet, silly version. The full day is put in upstream at Vyssi Brod or Rozmberk and come down to Krumlov; town operators rent the boat and drive you up. Check the water level before you commit to a long section.

The Cistercian monastery downstream is the obvious short cycling target from town and keeps bike racks in both courtyards. Check the approach before you set off - the local road from Kremze and Trisov has been closed, with traffic detoured via Srnin, Prisecna and Rajov.

The park runs west and north of Lipno and is the serious walking, cycling and cross-country skiing behind the town. Its eight visitor centres include Stozec in the south, the nearest one to Krumlov, where you can check which zones and trails are open before you go.
