On the hillside above the Brno reservoir in Bystrc, open roughly 09:00-19:00 in summer with last entry an hour before closing. From March to October it is 190 Kc for adults and 130 Kc for children and students. It is built on a slope, so a pushchair is hard work.

The Moravian Museum's prehistory pavilion in Pisarky, built in 1962 around Karel Absolon's 1928 exhibition on human origins and hung with Zdenek Burian's ice-age paintings. Pisarecka 5, and small enough to finish inside an hour.

The Baroque corridors dug under the fortress and later used as a prison, seen on a 60-minute guided tour booked through the castle's own system. From August 2026 they also hold an exhibition on the Allied bombing of Brno in 1944-45. Dark, cold and better for older children.

Purkynova 105 out in Kralovo Pole: Wednesday to Friday 09:00-17:00, weekends 10:00-18:00, closed Monday and Tuesday, last admission half an hour before closing. 180 Kc adults, 90 Kc reduced, 430 Kc for two adults and up to three children aged 6-15; under-sixes free.

The city transport company runs passenger boats from the Bystrc dock up the reservoir, including a return service to Veveri Castle, on the same network as the trams. Family and return tickets are sold at the dock.
