Drake Bay has no team, ground or league of its own. The closest Primera División side is Puntarenas FC, which means a boat to Sierpe and most of a day on the road; the season's fixtures are published by UNAFUT, the league.

The river behind the village and the channels off it are the sheltered paddling, done around high tide; lodges keep the boats and run guided trips. It is the one water activity here that does not depend on the sea being calm.

Boats go out from the same beach the passenger service uses, and the lodges book them; fishing, whale and dolphin trips are all standard offerings. Seasons matter more than operators here, so ask what is actually running the week you arrive rather than booking blind.

Walking between sectors, or the day into Sirena, is heat, humidity, river crossings and no shortcuts. SINAC runs the station at USD 30 a night if you want to break it up, and closes Sirena entirely in October. Train for humidity, not distance.

The village road is dirt, unlit after dark and shared with vehicles, and the coastal trail is a hiking route with tidal sections, not a running loop. Swim, paddle or walk with a guide; leave the training block at home.
