The organised night tour is the evening here, and the reason to book two nights rather than one. Arrange it at the lodge in the afternoon.

Every lodge has a bar and most close when the last guest goes to bed. Solar and generators mean lights out earlier than you would expect.

Agujitas has a couple of simple bars where the guides drink after work. Cold beer, plastic chairs and the football on.

No street lighting and no town for miles. On a clear night after rain the sky here is as good as anywhere in the country.

On dark nights some operators run boats into the bay to watch the plankton light up in the wake. Entirely weather and moon dependent.
