WITH KIDS
Be honest with yourself: this is a boat-access rainforest village with long humid walks and no clinic round the corner, which suits robust older children far better than toddlers.
The boat in is the first thing to plan for
One departure a day from Sierpe at 11:30, about an hour and a half, mangrove river then open coast, finishing with a landing straight onto the beach. There is no road alternative and no way to shorten it, so seasickness tablets, a dry bag and a change of clothes are not optional with small children.

The beach at Agujitas
The village sits on it, you can walk to it, and it is the default afternoon when a full park day is too much for everyone. Bring shade and water — there is no beach concession waiting for you.
Corcovado with children: San Pedrillo, and the child rate
San Pedrillo is the sector nearest Drake, so the boat leg is shortest and the day is the most manageable. SINAC charges USD 5 for children aged 2–12 and USD 15 for non-resident adults; under-2s are free. Sirena, the sector everyone raves about, is a much longer and hotter day and closed to visitors in October.

Wildlife without booking anything
Dawn and dusk around the village and the lodge gardens do most of the work here — scarlet macaws, howler monkeys and coatis are routine rather than remarkable, and children spot them faster than adults do. It is also the free part of the trip.
Bring it with you, because it arrives by boat or not at all
Repellent, sun cream, any medicines, seasickness tablets, dry bags, shoes that can get soaked at the landing and enough cash for the whole stay. Restocking means a boat to Sierpe and back, which is most of a day.
