EAT LIKE A LOCAL
This is not a place with a restaurant scene: it is your lodge's dining room, a short row of sodas in the village, and whatever came off a boat that morning.
Your lodge's dining room
Most places serve three meals at fixed times as part of the rate, and once the afternoon boat has gone there is no alternative and no menu. Tell them about allergies and diets when you book rather than when you sit down — nothing can be bought in at short notice.

The village's few small independent kitchens are the only place you actually choose what to eat. Casados at lunch, early closing, cash only — there is no reason to assume a card will work.

Sierpe, before you get on the boat
The last town served by road, and the last proper sit-down meal for however long you are staying. Worth arriving early enough to eat there rather than boarding hungry for a boat ride of about an hour and a half.

Casado, and whatever the boats landed
The standard plate is rice, beans, salad, fried plantain and a protein, and in Drake the protein is very often fish caught that morning. Ask what came in rather than reading the menu — the menu is aspirational and the catch is not.
