Estadio Atanasio Girardot
Atlético Nacional and Independiente Medellín both play here, and the derby fills it. The league runs Apertura January–June and Finalización July–December.
Ciclovía, Sunday mornings
Long stretches of the city's main avenues close to cars from early morning until early afternoon on Sundays and holidays, with free aerobics stations along the way.
Alto de Las Palmas
The climb out of the valley towards Rionegro is Antioquia's training ground; hundreds of cyclists ride it before dawn, and hire bikes are easy to find.
Medellín marathon
The city's road marathon and half take the riverside avenues in the second half of the year, run at 1,500 metres. Entries open months ahead.
