Where Phnom Penh goes after dark — bars, live music and the late ones worth staying up for.
FCC Phnom Penh
Colonial era building on the riverfront whose open first floor bar looks over the Tonle Sap. Go at dusk, before the dinner crowd thickens.
Bassac Lane
A short alley off Street 308 lined with tiny themed bars, each seating about a dozen people. Most open around 5pm and run past midnight.
Sundown Social Club
Third floor rooftop above the Russian Market on Street 440, open daily 4pm to 11pm. Tropical cocktails, rattan chairs and a decent sunset.
Heart of Darkness
Long running club on Street 51 playing chart and dance music to a mixed local and expat crowd. Nothing much happens before midnight.
Phnom Penh Night Market
Phsar Reatrey opens Friday to Sunday, 5pm to 11pm, off Sisowath Quay. The food stalls are at the back, eaten sitting on mats on the floor.
