The strip where the town's cafés and comedores sit between the tour agencies: set lunches, early breakfasts for people catching a boat, and the only real concentration of places to eat. A set lunch in Beni department averaged Bs 13.46 in March 2026, the cheapest of any Bolivian city surveyed.

Lowland Bolivian cooking leans on what comes out of the river and what grows beside it: fish, usually grilled or fried, with rice, yuca or fried plantain. It is what the comedores do best and what the lodges cook when the boat has been out.

Your meals are already bought
Jungle and pampas packages include all food, cooked at the lodge from supplies brought in by boat. Tell the agency about allergies or a vegetarian diet when you book rather than on the jetty — there is no substituting anything three hours upriver.
