Reckon Bs 19 for a market lunch — the March 2026 average for Potosí — Bs 3 for any city minibus, and Bs 8–10 for a daytime taxi or Bs 12–15 after dark. The mine tour costs more than all of that put together.

La Paz caps its terminal fares: Bs 48–63 for a normal seat to Potosí, Bs 76–92 semicama and Bs 106–129 cama. Night buses put you into a city at 4,067m at dawn, which is a hard way to begin.

Most people give it two nights between Sucre and Uyuni and the arithmetic usually supports that: the sights are concentrated, the city is small, and the altitude caps how much you get through in a day.

The Mercado Gremial on Calle Camacho, open 08:00–21:30, sells clothes, shoes and cloth, and is the cheap fix for having underpacked. You will want more layers than you brought, indoors as much as out.

Every agency in the centre sells the same Cerro Rico visit, and it will cost more than everything else in your day combined. It is dusty, cramped and genuinely risky, so price is the wrong thing to optimise — ask who the guide is and how long you will be underground.
