The moated castle at Sint-Veerleplein 11, open daily 10am–6pm with last admission at 4.40pm. €15 adults, €3 for 13–18s and free under 12, audio guide included; there is a 'Little Guide' scavenger hunt aimed at children.

A children's nature museum on two sites — the House at Sint-Pietersplein 14 and the Garden at Berouw 55 — with one €7 adult ticket covering both within six months; 13–18s pay €1.40 and under-12s are free. Open weekdays 9am–5pm and Sundays 2–5.30pm, closed Saturdays.

Guided open and covered boats leaving from Hoogpoort 39 in the centre, daily 10am–6pm from 1 April to 2 November and 11am–4pm through the winter. Commentary is live rather than recorded.

The dragon-topped middle tower of the famous three, open daily 10am–6pm with last tickets at 5pm; under-12s go free. A lift runs from the first floor upwards but there are stairs to reach it, so it is not step-free.

A free city-run school farm at Gijzelstraat 14 in Drongen, with animals, puzzle boxes and a big playground next door. Open 9am–4pm on weekdays, until 5pm on Wednesdays and in school holidays, closed at weekends; guided animal visits at 3pm on Wednesdays.
