Thirty minutes with no stops, running between Jan van Eyck Square and the Beguinage. €15 adult, €9 for ages 4–11, free under 4; daily 10am–6pm March to October. Tickets are sold on the spot only, at five jetties — Rozenhoedkaai, Huidenvettersplein, Wollestraat, Nieuwstraat and Katelijnestraat.

366 steps up from Markt 7 and no lift, so judge small legs accordingly; last entry is an hour before closing. €16 adult and €14 under 18 in summer and at weekends, €15 and €13 in winter, free under 7. Open 9am–8pm daily from 1 April to 2 November.

Chocolate museum at Wijnzakstraat 2 by Sint-Jansplein, with about a thousand objects, live making demonstrations and tasting. Open daily 10am–6pm with last tickets at 5pm.

At Markt 1: themed rooms with film and effects telling a story set in 15th-century Bruges, with a separate VR flight over the medieval city and a tower with a 360-degree view. Open every day including Sundays and public holidays.

Free botanical park near the Fish Market and the Burg with a pond and fountain, a kiosk, plenty of benches and a large playground — useful precisely because it is two minutes from the busiest part of the centre.
