THINGS TO DO
The things worth doing in Vienna, from the obvious landmarks to the ones locals actually rate.
Aerial view of Vienna with the town hall and Votivkirche spires
Schoenbrunn Palace and gardens
1,441 rooms and a Habsburg summer estate. The maze, the palm house and the Gloriette hill are the better half of it.
Kunsthistorisches Museum
The largest Bruegel collection anywhere, under a staircase painted by a young Klimt. Daily 10am-6pm, Thursdays until 9pm.
Zentralfriedhof
Beethoven, Brahms and Schubert share group 32A in Europe's second-largest cemetery. Free, huge, and full of deer. Tram 71.
Third Man Museum
A private hoard on Carol Reed's noir Vienna: sewers, zithers, Cold War. Saturdays 2-6pm only, or by appointment.
Naschmarkt and flea market
Rows of food stalls and Turkish grocers, with a sprawling Saturday flea market at the Kettenbrueckengasse end.
