Styria's biggest club, in the Admiral Bundesliga, playing at the Merkur Arena in Liebenau, a tram ride south of the centre. The Nordkurve is the loud end; tickets go through the club's own site.

The older of the two, founded on 18 August 1902, also in the Admiral Bundesliga and also playing at the Merkur Arena. Smaller crowds and cheaper tickets than Sturm, except when the two meet.

The city's ice hockey club, going since 1999, playing at the Merkur Eisstadion beside the football ground in Liebenau. Tickets are easier to come by than for football and the rink is small enough to hear the bench.

The city's autumn road race, on 9–11 October 2026, with a marathon, half, quarter, relay, a 5km city run, a Nordic walk and children's races over the weekend.

American football at the ASKÖ-Stadion in Eggenberg, one of the established Austrian clubs and a regular in the Austrian Bowl conversation. Tickets are cheap and the crowd is family-heavy; check the fixture list on the club site.
