The New Year Test in January, Big Bash through summer, and AFL for the Swans from March to September. General admission goes quickly.
Sydney to Hobart
The bluewater fleet starts on Boxing Day and streams out through the Heads; watch free from South Head or the Nielsen Park side.
Surf lifesaving and ocean swims
Club carnivals run on the beaches from spring to autumn, and ocean races such as the Bondi to Bronte fill summer Sundays. Entry is cheap.
