NRL at Robina from March to September, with some of the cheapest tickets in the competition and a train station at the ground.
Gold Coast Marathon
A flat coastal course run in the mild winter, in July, with a half marathon and shorter events over the same weekend.
Surfing the points
The Superbank at Snapper Rocks holds long right-handers and a World Surf League contest in autumn; board hire is cheap all along Coolangatta.
