The city's big western park, entered through the Portones at the end of Av. Emilio Civit, with a lake, a rose garden and the hill topped by the monument to San Martín's Army of the Andes. The Teatro Griego Frank Romero Day, where the Vendimia's main show is staged, is inside the same grounds.

185 km from the city on Ruta 7. The two-hour Laguna Horcones circuit is the version that needs no mountaineering — an online ticket, open to all ages, free for under-12s — while day treks are 13-plus and multi-day permits are issued in person. Main season is 1 November to 30 April; nothing is sold at the park gate, so book before you leave. Andesmar buses from Mendoza's terminal take about four hours.

A 1912 Renaissance-style winery at Nueva Mayorga s/n in Maipú, open daily 09:30–17:00 with the last visit at 16:00, offering guided tours, a museum and tastings, all by advance reservation. Maipú is the closest wine district to the city and the flat one people ride between bodegas by bicycle.

Thermal pool complex on Ruta Provincial 82 in Luján de Cuyo, 38 km from Mendoza on the Mendoza river. The water park runs daily 10:00–18:00; adventure activities such as rafting and zip lines run Monday to Saturday 10:00–18:00, and there is a separate hotel and spa on site.

The grape harvest festival, whose main show is staged at the Teatro Griego Frank Romero Day in Parque General San Martín. For 2027 the Vía Blanca de las Reinas is Friday 5 March and the Carrusel and Acto Central are Saturday 6 March. Hotel rooms across the city go early for that weekend.
