The city's bar street, running west to the gates of Parque General San Martín, with bars, parrillas and pavement tables side by side for several blocks. It fills from about 22:00 and is busiest Thursday to Saturday; you walk it rather than pick one place in advance.

The Mendoza taproom of the Argentine craft-beer chain, at Arístides Villanueva 161, in the middle of the bar strip. House beers on tap plus a full food menu, which makes it a reasonable first stop before the street gets going.

A century-old winery inside the city limits, declared cultural heritage, running 90-minute guided tours and tastings with a 20:00 slot Tuesday to Saturday. English tours are at 16:00 Tuesday to Friday and 15:00 on Saturday; tastings run roughly ARS 20,000–50,000 and must be booked ahead.

Restaurant at Av. Sarmiento 765 run by chef Sebastián Weigandt, listed in the Michelin Guide and on The World's 50 Best Discovery, with a long Argentine wine list as the point of the meal. Book ahead through reservas@azuca.com.ar.

The provincial artisans' market, running for close to 40 years, fills Plaza Independencia on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 to 22:00 with weaving, pottery, carving and metalwork. Free to walk through, and the plaza is where the evening gathers before dinner.
